You deserve to be healthy in body and mind. Your plan covers health for you as a whole person. That includes help with your mental health or substance use. You or your child can go to any behavioral health provider in our network.

Behavioral health emergencies: Dial 988

If you have a behavioral health emergency, call 988. This is the new number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. If you have thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, their trained counselors can help you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You also have the option to chat online with a counselor through their Lifeline Chat service.

Medical emergencies: Dial 911

If you have a medical emergency and need help right now, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital. You can use any hospital for emergency care, even if it isn’t in our network. Just show your member ID card.

 

Mobile Family Crisis Helpline

Need support for a mental health crisis in someone aged 20 or younger? You can call Kansas Family Crisis Response Helpline at 1-833-441-2240. They can help you over the phone or in person, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We’ve got you covered

 

Behavioral health benefits cover treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. We offer treatment options to help you feel better and support your recovery. You don’t need a PCP referral. You can get care from any provider in our network.

 

Behavioral health services

 

You’re covered for certain mental and behavioral health care services. Some services may need prior authorization. For inpatient treatment, the hospital must notify us. Covered services include:

 

  • Inpatient psychiatric services
  • Inpatient substance use disorder diagnosis and treatment
  • Outpatient substance use disorder diagnosis and treatment
  • Outpatient psychiatric services

Substance use disorders happen when people misuse drugs, alcohol or both, repeatedly. Often, substance use is related to mental health.

 

If you think you or someone close to you may need help with substance misuse, call Beacon Health Options at 1-866-645-8216. They can provide an assessment of the problem and, if needed, figure out which treatment options would be best. They can also refer you to nearby treatment providers.
