Don’t lose your health benefits
You must renew your Medicaid benefits every year. Watch for a Healthy Louisiana renewal notice in the mail. You’ll get it about the same time of year as when you first applied for benefits.

What you may need to renew coverage
What you may need to renew coverage
When you renew, you may need to include these things with your application:
- Your most recent pay stubs with your gross wages, or a letter from your employer on company letterhead with your gross wages
- Proof of any other form of income (self-employment, rental, alimony, etc.)
- Names and birthdates of all members in your house
- Social Security numbers of all members in your house
- Info on other health insurance you may have
These things help confirm the info you provided. To enroll, you’ll need to provide this info about yourself and your family members.
Renewing is easy to do
You can choose from a few ways to renew:
By mail
Send your completed renewal form back before your stated due date. The address will be on your renewal notice.
By phone
Online
To renew online, you can visit the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) website. Then, log in or create an account. Check out this guide (PDF) to learn more.
In person
You can get help with the renewal process in person. Just contact a Medicaid Regional Office near you. You’ll want to call before you visit in person to be sure your site is open.

Keep your info up to date
After you renew, make sure that any info we have from you stays current. This allows you to keep the coverage you already have. Your info may include your address, employment status and other details.
