Medicaid and Healthy Michigan enrollment is open year-round and you can begin at any time. If you think you qualify for either plan, it’s time to apply. Just go to “Apply now” to get started. Or call Michigan ENROLLS at 1-888-367-6557 (TTY: 1-888-263-5897). You can also find out if you qualify.

You’ll need about 30 minutes to apply. Before you start, you’ll want to have this info ready:
 

  • Employer and income info: household monthly income, pay stubs and W-2 forms 
  • Social Security numbers or document numbers for each household member applying 
  • Date of birth for each household member applying   
  • Immigration info, if it applies (some noncitizens may qualify to enroll, depending on state rules)
  • Photo ID if you’re applying in person 
  • Policy numbers for any current health insurance

As part of your application, you’ll be asked which health plan or managed care organization (MCO) you’d like to choose. You can choose Aetna Better Health® of Michigan as your health plan before submitting your application.

Typically, your coverage will start on the first day of the month after you're approved.
 

Once you're approved, you’ll get a welcome packet and member ID card in the mail. In the meantime, see what steps you can take when you first become a member.

 

If you’re under a provider’s care when you join, let us know. We’ll work with you and your provider to make sure you keep getting the care you need.
