How to choose us
Remember to choose Aetna Better Health® of Kansas when it’s time for enrollment.
You have a few options:
Before submitting your KanCare application:
On your KanCare application form, choose Aetna Better Health of Kansas as your preferred health plan/managed care organization (MCO). Complete this step before submitting your application.
After submitting your KanCare application:
If you don’t choose a health plan on your KanCare application, you’ll be assigned to one automatically. If you’d like to change from your assigned health plan, you can do so within 90 days from your enrollment date.
By mail: Upon approval for KanCare, you’ll be sent an enrollment packet in the mail. Just complete the form that came along with the packet. Then, send it to the address on the form.
By phone: You can also call KanCare at 1-866-305-5147 (TDD/TTY: 1-800-766-3777). Tell them you choose Aetna Better Health of Kansas as your plan.

Already enrolled in a health plan? Even if it’s past 90 days from your enrollment, you may still be able to change your plan (under certain conditions). Learn about some reasons for changing your plan (PDF).
You can also wait until the next open enrollment period to change plans. This happens at a certain time every year. You’ll receive a reminder letter prior to this time.
